After weeks of tracking down headshots, checking names and titles, editing biographies and reviewing printer proofs, the Lozafina team is ready to do something we’ve been looking forward to since we started this project. Pick up the 104-page awards program and turn the pages.
It was a beast of a project, and we’re incredibly proud to sponsor it. The Bloc brought its 50 Over 50 Nebraska and 20 Under 20 Nebraska awards together for one ceremony. Lozafina created every social media post for the campaign, promoted the event to local newsrooms, produced the printed program and built the slide deck guests will see as the honorees are recognized.
Now let us tell you what went into those 104 pages…
The booklet started with a page-by-page plan. We needed room for honoree profiles and photographs, sponsor ads and acknowledgments, the order of the ceremony, and the credits. As materials came in, our team followed up with honorees and their contacts to fill gaps, checked biographical details, and edited profiles to 180 words or fewer.
That word count forced decisions on every page. What can you tell a reader about someone’s career in 180 words? A list of positions might cover the chronology. A detail about whom they mentored, what they built, or how their work changed an organization gives the reader a reason to remember the name. Those were the details we wanted to keep.
Once the pages were laid out, we coordinated with the printer on the cover, interior pages, and proof. At the same time, we built the presentation for the ceremony and worked with The Bloc on the order in which honorees would come to the stage. The booklet gives guests time to read each person’s story. The slide deck helps them follow who’s being recognized in the room.
Outside the ballroom, our team used social media to introduce honorees and share event details. We promoted the ceremony to local media and prepared talking points for The Bloc. One of the stories we wanted to get across was the reason for bringing the awards together. Guests would hear from Nebraskans with decades of experience and meet young people already contributing to their communities.
Now for the most exciting part! We’ll be cheering for FOUR Lozafina clients.
Among the 50 Over 50 Nebraska honorees are four people whose work we’ve had the privilege of covering through Lozafina. Greg Boulay, Aimee Gibson, Sybil Jackson and Avil Jackson work in different fields, and each has a story worth spending time with.

Greg Boulay spent 23 years in public accounting, including 14 as a partner at Lutz and Company, before acquiring the independently owned Pella branch in 2005. Today he is CEO and founding partner of Pella Windows & Doors of Omaha and Lincoln. One part of Pella’s work we’ve been following is its collaboration with Metropolitan Community College, where students get hands-on experience measuring, ordering, and installing windows.
Aimee Gibson, CEO of BraveJoy Leadership, brings more than 20 years of coaching and consulting experience to her work with leaders taking on new responsibilities or guiding teams through change. At the Greater Omaha Chamber’s CODE Conference, she led a breakout discussion on inclusion in workplaces and communities. She also received a 2024 Volunteer of the Year award for her work with HRAM of the Midlands’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

Sybil Jackson has worked across counseling, behavioral support, education and advocacy. Through A Sybilized Conversation, she helps young people and families talk about sensitive issues and find support. Her experience includes conducting functional behavioral assessments and providing sex education for people with intellectual disabilities. It’s work that calls for plain language and the ability to listen without judgment, especially when a family is trying to figure out how to start a difficult conversation.

Avil Jackson, founder and principal organizational change advisor at LuminaNorth Group, has spent more than 30 years helping leaders and teams work through changes in how their organizations operate. In an interview with AFROTECH, she applied that experience to the rollout of artificial intelligence at work, discussing what employees need to understand the technology and use it responsibly. She also addressed the role middle managers play in keeping executives and front-line employees connected during a change.
Greg, Aimee, Sybil and Avil, we’re proud to work with you. We’re looking forward to hearing each of your names called.
The sold-out ceremony takes place Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown, 1616 Dodge St. The Bloc presents the sixth annual 50 Over 50 Nebraska awards in partnership with AARP. This year’s ceremony also recognizes the 20 Under 20 Nebraska honoree
