EPIC for Girls, a local nonprofit empowering girls of color through sports, will host an interactive event featuring players from the Omaha Supernovas on Wednesday, April 30, at Hurrdat Sports Bar & Grill in La Vista. The event, at 6 p.m., will welcome nearly 100 girls currently involved in EPIC's programs.

MENTOR Nebraska is launching its first-ever Youth Advisory Board, and they are seeking bold and passionate teens across the state to help shape the future of youth mentoring in Nebraska.

The Omaha Mobile Stage Youth Talent Show is regional, covering Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties. Now in its fourth season, the organization is getting ready to kick off competitions on May 31 with a drum-off competition during La Vista Days.

On April 12, the Delta Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, partnered with Urban Financial Services Coalition and Girls Inc. of Omaha to bring financial literacy to life for 34 young women. On Monday, April 14, Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc.’s Omicron Chapter proudly hosted its annual Latina Youth Leadership Conference (LYLC)— a day-long event that welcomed more than 150 young Latinas from middle schools across Omaha.

The academic triumphs of 221 African-American students will be recognized at the African-American Academic Achievement Awards (5A) presented by the Community Academic Achievement Awards Committee (CAAAC) on Wednesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. at Northwest High School.

Applications are now open for Class 48 of Leadership Omaha, a signature program from the Greater Omaha Chamber, and will close on Monday, May 5. This 10-month experience is designed for professionals who want to strengthen their community ties and grow as impactful leaders.
