Inclusive Communities today kicked off the Youth Impact Summit at the Milo Bail Student Center on the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campus, bringing together high school students from across the region for a day of leadership development, mental health conversations, belonging, and youth empowerment. The summit runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a full schedule of breakout sessions, keynote speakers, student-led discussions, and hands-on learning.

Winterland at Heartwood Preserve will shift from weekend operations to a daily schedule of free outdoor ice skating and skate rentals beginning Friday, organizers announced this week. The seasonal rink, located at Heartwood Park at 301 S. 145th St., opened Nov. 1 and has quickly become a popular holiday attraction for families across the Omaha metro.

Early giving for #GivingTuesday402, the Omaha metro’s largest annual day of generosity, officially opened Nov. 18, with donations culminating at midnight on Dec. 2. Organized locally by SHARE Omaha, the campaign invites residents across Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders, and Washington counties to support more than 500 area nonprofits through a single online platform.
