Refugee families across Omaha are facing urgent challenges as recent reductions in food assistance programs create a growing need for secondary income, career mobility, and clear pathways to long-term stability.
The Omaha Refugee Task Force Employment Subcommittee, in collaboration with the Greater Omaha Chamber and community partners, invites employers, workforce development agencies, educational institutions, resettlement agencies, and civic leaders to join a focused conversation on how we can move from concern to coordinated action.
This free seminar will bring together partners including Lutheran Family Services, Center for Immigrant and Refugee Advancement, Quality Pork International Inc., Lozier, Metropolitan Community College, Heartland Workforce Solutions, Heartland Workers Center, Nebraska Enterprise Fund, and the City of Omaha Human Rights & Relations: ONEBiz.
Together, attendees will explore practical strategies to create sustainable income opportunities, strengthen upskilling pathways, and close opportunity gaps for refugee families in our region. Your voice will help shape solutions that are grounded in community need, employer insight, and a shared commitment to economic stability.
