Leadership Lab Deep Dive: Coaching with Curiosity & Candor is a two-day interactive leadership development experience designed to help early- to mid-career professionals and new managers become more confident, thoughtful, and effective coaches within their organizations.
Hosted at Midland University’s Center for Graduate and Professional Studies, this workshop builds on concepts introduced in Leadership Lab Foundations and focuses on helping leaders shift from simply solving problems to developing people.
Participants will learn how to:
Ask stronger coaching questions that encourage growth and ownership
Navigate candid conversations with clarity and empathy
Deliver meaningful feedback while maintaining trust and accountability
Build healthier team communication and leadership habits
Strengthen workplace relationships through curiosity-centered leadership
Day 1: Discovering Your Coaching Identity
The first day focuses on helping participants better understand their leadership and coaching styles through reflection, guided exercises, and practical application. Attendees will explore coaching frameworks inspired by The Coaching Habit by Michael Bungay Stanier and practice asking powerful questions that support growth-oriented conversations.
Day 2: Strengthening Feedback & Development Conversations
The second day expands on Radical Candor principles introduced in Leadership Lab Foundations. Participants will strengthen their ability to lead honest, respectful, and relationship-centered conversations while developing practical approaches to accountability, feedback, and trust-building.
