Seward, Nebraska knows how to celebrate the Fourth of July with pride, history, and hometown heart. Dating back to 1868, this annual Independence Day celebration has grown into one of Nebraska’s most recognized and award-winning patriotic events, welcoming families, community members, and visitors from across the state and beyond.

Spend the day exploring downtown Seward and enjoying a full schedule of family-friendly activities, including the Grand Parade at 4:00 PM, National Guard Museum exhibits beginning at 9:00 AM, a Classic Car Show, live entertainment, contests, dancers, performances, and Crafts on the Square from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Runners can kick off the celebration with the Freedom Run, featuring a 10K race and 2-mile Fun Run.

The celebration wraps up with a fireworks display at Plum Creek Park at 10:00 PM, lighting up the night in true Fourth of July fashion. With more than 150 years of tradition behind it, Seward’s Independence Day celebration is a can’t-miss Nebraska summer event filled with patriotism, community, and memories for all ages.
