The Big Mix Is Bringing Omaha’s Different Circles Into One Room

Lozafina Marketing & Public Relations and MODUS Coworking are bringing together entrepreneurs, journalists, nonprofit leaders, college students, creatives, business professionals, and community connectors for an evening designed to spark unexpected conversations and meaningful connections.
The Big Mix will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at MODUS Coworking in downtown Omaha.
The event will also celebrate Lozafina’s sixth anniversary and the people who have helped the Latina- and woman-owned agency grow since its founding in 2020.
“The past six years have been shaped by the people who trusted us, worked with us, introduced us to others, and gave us room to grow,” Lozafina founder Josefina Loza said. “The Big Mix is our way of celebrating those relationships while creating space for new ones.”
The Big Mix was created to bring people from different industries, backgrounds and stages of their careers into the same room, including people who may not otherwise have an opportunity to meet.
“This isn’t meant to feel like traditional networking,” Loza said. “We want people to relax, meet someone unexpected and leave with a new connection, idea or opportunity.”
Guests can expect light food, drinks, music and plenty of opportunities to mingle without name-tag pressure or awkward elevator pitches.
DJ Sparx, also known as Marcus Bell and also known as the reason the playlist will not sound like it came preloaded with Microsoft Office, will provide the music throughout the evening.
Guests will also have an opportunity to explore MODUS and learn more about its coworking, meeting, and event spaces in downtown Omaha.
The Big Mix is intentionally limited to 75 guests so the evening remains personal, welcoming, and easy to navigate. Tickets are already moving quickly, and once capacity is reached, registration will close.
