Mark Booker: A Strategic Innovator Dedicated to Empowering Others

MY FIVE: A series where we ask Omahans to share their five favorite things

Meet Mark Booker!

He’s a founder, innovator, and lifelong student of strategy, from his days playing collegiate sports to his work as a CEO of a startup company. As the founder of SWOT60 and the mind behind the technology at GoodFocusGames, he’s dedicated to helping organizations find clarity and efficiency.

Driven by a deep appreciation for the "X's and O's" of how a team succeeds and a passion for making every employee feel seen and heard, Mark views every business challenge as an opportunity for a smarter, faster solution that empowers every voice in the room.

Here are five things Mark can't live without…

1. My Daughters

They are my life. My work is all about improving how teams collaborate, but my daughters are my "why." They are my foundation, my support system, and my constant reminder of what's truly important. Every laugh and every conversation recharges me, giving my work a deeper, more personal meaning.

2. A Great Cup of Coffee

I'm not sure any real strategic thinking can happen before that first cup. For me, it's more than just the caffeine; it's a critical daily ritual. It’s that first quiet moment in the morning where I can map out the day, untangle a complex problem, or just think without interruption. It's the official start button for my brain.

3. Music

Music is my universal translator. I play the piano and guitar, so I have a deep love and appreciation for music of all kinds. Whether I’m analyzing a complex data set, looking for new insights, or just trying to unwind, there’s always a playlist running. It has a unique ability to set the tone for deep, focused work or to help me see a problem from a new, creative angle. It’s the soundtrack to innovation.

4. My Laptop

5. Empowering Voices by Fixing Systems

This is the mission that gets me out of bed in the morning. I've loved sports my entire life, even playing at the collegiate level. I'm still fascinated by the "X's and O's", the playbooks, the systems, and how a team of individuals collaborates to win.

That same passion is what I bring to my work. I am genuinely obsessed (to put it mildly) with finding inefficient business processes and making them simple and fast. But it's about more than just efficiency. A good coach knows you can't win if you only listen to your star players; you need to hear from the entire team. I have a real passion for making sure every employee feels seen, heard, and that they have agency in their organization's success.

This passion is what led me to build SWOT60. Seeing a leadership team get better, more honest data because every voice in the room was heard equally and anonymously... that's my version of a masterpiece. It's an opportunity to give organizations back their time while empowering their people.
