The Nebraska State Historical Society and Preserve Omaha have teamed up to host a workshop on preserving and repairing wooden doors.
Preserve Omaha’s The Jo(h)ns will lead participants through a hands-on workshop that includes:
Hinge and hardware stripping
Repairing locksets
Fitting doors to existing frames
“Stretching” doors that were cut too short.
Installing Dutchmen in old hardware locations.
Attendees will get to work on actual wood doors in the Joslyn Castle’s basement workshop. Tickets are $10, and this workshop is best suited for those ages 14+.
