Omaha Freedom Festival 2023

Celebrate the emancipation of enslaved Americans this year at the Omaha Freedom Festival, presented by Freedomtainment.

From noon to 5 pm share in free festivities at the Malcom X Memorial Foundation (3448 Evans Street, Omaha), including family friendly arts & crafts, carnival games, local art, and food and beverage. DJ Houston Alexander Spinning will be providing music and raffles throughout the day include ten bikes and one laptop.

Learn more about the importance of Juneteeth at the main stage from 1-3 pm, with a lineup of guest speakers, including Cynthia Robinson from UNO’s Department of Black Studies, Enjoli Mitchell, Councilwomen Juanita Johnson and the Malcom X Memorial Foundation.

The Poetry Contest Winners will be announced on the main stage at 3 pm. The content was sponsored by Rotella’s Bakery, and first place winners in the three age groups will receive a $300 cash prize.

Following the Poetry Contest will be the Car Raffle. Sponsored by Baxter Auto Group, the car raffle will provide one North Omaha resident who is a senior in high school or freshman in college with a used vehicle.

After the daytime festivities conclude, the concert begins at 7 pm. Performers include Muisiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings and Omaha's very own songbird, Enjoli with Timeless. Please note that purses will not be allowed into the concert area, but small clear bags will be allowed.
