On Sunday, June 29th at 2:00 p.m., Margaret Stohl and Rainbow Rowell will discuss and sign their books; "Super Visible: The Story of the Women of Marvel Comics" and "Slow Dance,” at The Bookworm.
Stohl worked with Judith Stephens and Jeanine Schafer to interview 100 women and nonbinary individuals who are behind some of Marvel’s most iconic characters. Their research transcends those who are alive today, and includes powerhouses from all the way back in 1939. Through interviews and research, readers learn about the individuals who have shaped pop culture from the sidelines and how those individuals used their personal experiences to fuel phenomena.
Rowell’s newest novel, “Slow Dance,” returns to a setting familiar to many Omahans, because it’s Omaha. The story follows North Omaha native Shiloh Butler as she attempts to reconnect with her childhood best friend after fourteen years of silence.
The event is free and open to the public.
