MCC Hosts Juneteenth Celebration in South Omaha

A community Juneteenth celebration will take place on Monday, June 15, at Metropolitan Community College’s South Omaha Campus. Bringing together people to celebrate culture and freedom. The event honors the emancipation of enslaved African Americans across the United States and highlights the importance of unity.
Attendees can expect a wide range of activities at the event, including food trucks, health screenings, contests, educational speakers, and more. The event is meant to celebrate Juneteenth while educating and bringing the community together.
The schedule of events is as follows:
7:30 a.m. – Freedom Walk
Fort Omaha Campus, Building 10
(All other programming takes place at South Omaha Campus)
9 a.m. – Quilts: Stitched History and Getting Started

9:45 a.m. – Greenwood: A Dreamland Destroyed
