Lozafina Awards Scholarship to Marian High Student at BSF Luncheon
Lozafina is proud to partner with the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation in recognizing MajieAhna Winfrey as a recipient of the 2026 Lozafina Scholarship. Winfrey just graduated from Omaha Marian High School and Metropolitan Community College with an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies.
Winfrey, 18, is passionate about law and hopes to become a Juvenile Justice Attorney and run her own business. She will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to major in Political Science and minor in Business Law. She hopes to grow as a Leader and represent her community. She is grateful and believes this scholarship is a stepping stone in the right direction.
“The scholarship means being a role model and stepping into my community with a newfound confidence and a new assurance that I can become everything that I want to be,” she said.
Every year, the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to a variety of students to help with undergraduate, master's, and trade programs. The purpose of this foundation is to reduce the financial burden for Latino students pursuing higher education. Recipients of this scholarship embody strong academic aptitude, high character, and personal ambition.
Lozafina is a proud partner by helping support marketing efforts and website support while also giving back, and by sponsoring a $2,500 scholarship. We are committed to embracing community and diversity, and partnering with Barrientos allows us to do just that, said Josefina Loza, founder and CEO of the branding, marketing, and public relations firm.
“Though I may not look Latina,” Winfrey said, “I strive every day to represent a part of me that the world sometimes fails to acknowledge.”
Congratulations to MajieAhna Winfrey on this achievement, and we look forward to seeing the impact she makes on her community and profession.
