Veterans, service members, military spouses and local business owners are invited to connect, learn and grow at the Veteran & Military Entrepreneur Resource Forum, presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Nebraska/Iowa team.
Held as part of National Veterans Small Business Week, this free event is designed to connect members of the military community with professionals and resources that can support entrepreneurship, employment and business growth. Whether you are considering starting your own business, already operating one or looking for ways to recruit and support veterans in your workforce, the forum will provide information to help you take the next step.
Attendees will hear from business and workforce professionals about a range of programs and opportunities. Topics include the SBA’s 7(a) Manufacturers’ Access to Revolving Credit (MARC) Loan Program, presented by SBA Nebraska Lender Relations Specialist Mike Marsh, as well as programs and resources for hiring veterans with Steve Olsen of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service.
The program will also cover entrepreneurship resources specifically for members of the military community. Dustin Davis, Director of the Veterans Business Outreach Center, will discuss the Military Spouse Pathway to Business and key elements of starting a business, along with the Veteran Readiness & Employment Self-Employment Track.
The forum will conclude with a panel discussion and audience Q&A, giving participants an opportunity to connect directly with speakers, ask questions and learn more about the resources available to veteran and military entrepreneurs.
