Planning ahead can make a big difference when disaster strikes. The U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting an online information session to help homeowners, business owners and private nonprofit organizations better understand SBA mitigation assistance and how it can support long-term resilience.
During the session, SBA experts will explain what mitigation means, how the mitigation loan option works, when eligible borrowers can apply and how the funds may be used to protect homes and businesses from future damage. Eligible SBA borrowers may be able to request up to 20% of their verified physical loss from their initial physical disaster loan to fund qualifying property improvements.
The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and connect with subject matter experts. The webinar will be hosted on Zoom, and registration is required.
