Spend an evening building skills, meeting new people and enjoying an inclusive skating community at Popsicle Skate Night, hosted at Benson Community Center in Omaha.
Organized by The Bay Omaha in partnership with Popsicle Skate, Access Granted and the Women’s Fund of Omaha, this monthly event creates a welcoming and supportive space for girls, femmes and nonbinary skaters of all ages who feel comfortable in a femme-centered environment. Skateboarders, rollerbladers and scooter riders are all welcome to participate.
Skateboarding and other action sports have traditionally been male-dominated, which can make entering the community feel intimidating. Popsicle Skate Night is designed to help change that by giving participants a space where they can practice their skills, build confidence and connect with others who share an interest in skating.
Whether you are stepping onto a skateboard for the first time or already have experience, the evening is focused on learning, having fun and helping create a stronger and more accessible skate community.
Registration includes a free skateboard and helmet rental, although participants are welcome to bring their own equipment. Helmets are required for everyone participating, and a liability waiver must be completed before attending. For minors, the waiver must be completed by a parent or guardian.
