Knowing how to recognize and respond when someone is experiencing a mental health challenge can make an important difference.
Join Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare for an in-person Adult Mental Health First Aid training designed to help participants build the knowledge and confidence needed to support someone who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
The course teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to common signs and symptoms of mental illness. It also provides practical guidance for starting conversations with someone who may be struggling and learning how to offer appropriate support.
Throughout the training, participants will gain tools that can be used to support friends, family members, colleagues and others within the community. The course is designed for anyone interested in learning more about mental health and becoming better prepared to respond when someone may need help.
Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour course, and participants who successfully complete the training will receive Mental Health First Aid certification valid for three years.
