Breakthrough T1D™ Walk

  • Union Bank & Trust at Heartwood Preserve 14400 Branch Street Omaha, Nebraska, 68154 United States (map)

Join the Omaha community for the Breakthrough T1D™ Walk, a family-friendly event bringing people of all ages and abilities together to support everyone impacted by type 1 diabetes.

Every step helps fuel research, advocacy and community support while moving us closer to cures. Participants can make an impact by walking, fundraising, volunteering or donating.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with activities, food trucks, vendor experiences and time for teams to gather. The T1D Champions Parade staging begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by the parade, group photo, opening ceremonies and National Anthem at 12:45 p.m. The one-mile walk officially begins with a ribbon cutting at 1:00 p.m., and activities conclude at 2:30 p.m.

This year’s experience includes a flag ceremony honoring each participant’s connection to T1D, a Community Wall for messages of hope and strength, and the Pathway to Progress highlighting milestones in type 1 diabetes research. The Breakthrough Mile will also feature tribute signs honoring local T1D champions and their journeys.

First-time walkers and anyone not yet registered should stop at the Welcome Tent upon arrival for event information, required forms and a pennant flag for the opening ceremony. Participants living with T1D can also pick up a T1D identifier and take part in the T1D Champions Parade.

Parking will be available in the Carson Wealth parking lot directly adjacent to Union Bank & Trust. Follow the Breakthrough T1D parking signs and flags for the designated entrance.
