SBA Event: Profit Starts With How You Price

A lot of people think pricing is just numbers. It’s not. It’s positioning. It’s confidence. It’s understanding the value of what you’ve built and knowing how to communicate it clearly enough that someone else believes in it, too.

That’s exactly what this upcoming workshop is getting right.

On Thursday, April 16, the U.S. Small Business Administration, in partnership with the Nebraska Business Development Center, is hosting an in-person session in Fremont that cuts through the guesswork: Profit-Focused Pricing.

And the timing couldn’t be more relevant.

Across Omaha and the surrounding region, you can feel the shift: businesses growing, expanding, testing new ideas, and trying to stay competitive in a market that’s moving fast.

But one of the most common challenges I still see, no matter the industry, is this: People are building strong businesses… and underpricing them.

Not because they lack skill. Not because they lack demand. But because pricing feels personal, and often uncertain.

This workshop, led by NBDC Assistant State Director Kiley Phelps, is designed to change that.

It brings together the pieces most business owners don’t always get in one place: Market insight. Cost structure clarity. Customer psychology.

Because pricing is about understanding how your customer perceives value, how your competitors are positioned, and how to adjust without losing your footing.
