MENTOR Nebraska Prepares New Training Opportunities for 2026–2027

MENTOR Nebraska is preparing a refreshed lineup of professional development opportunities for the 2026–2027 training year, continuing its commitment to providing no-cost education and resources for mentoring professionals and youth-serving organizations across the state.
MENTOR Nebraska regularly offers monthly trainings designed to strengthen mentoring programs by providing professionals, volunteers and community partners with access to research, best practices and practical tools they can use in their work with young people.
As the organization develops its new training schedule, monthly trainings will pause during August and September before returning with new learning opportunities and resources.
The training program is part of MENTOR Nebraska's broader work to strengthen the quality and reach of mentoring throughout the state. By making professional development available at no cost, the organization helps reduce barriers for mentoring programs and community organizations seeking additional training for their staff, volunteers and partners.
While monthly trainings are paused, MENTOR Nebraska is encouraging mentoring professionals and youth-serving organizations to continue their professional development through several free resources currently available online.
Among those resources is It Takes a Village: Identifying, Forming, and Maintaining Community Partnerships, a webinar focused on building partnerships that can strengthen mentoring programs and expand their community impact.
Professionals can also access the Youth Advisory Council Mentoring Mindset Podcast, which incorporates youth perspectives into conversations about mentoring, as well as the Collaborative Mentoring Webinar Series, a collection of learning opportunities addressing topics and best practices relevant to the mentoring field.
The resources provide organizations with opportunities to continue learning as MENTOR Nebraska prepares its next slate of trainings.
Training and professional development are particularly important for organizations working with young people because effective mentoring extends beyond simply matching a mentor and mentee. High-quality programs require intentional practices around relationship development, mentor preparation, youth engagement, program management and ongoing support.
MENTOR Nebraska serves as a statewide resource for organizations working to create and strengthen those relationships. In addition to training, the organization supports mentoring programs through technical assistance, partnerships, advocacy and resources designed to increase both the quality and availability of mentoring across Nebraska.
