Lozafina Awards Scholarship in Partnership with Barrientos Scholarship Foundation to Future UNL Student Joshua Goldsmith
(L-R): Lozafina Client Relations Executive Sahory Martinez, Scholarship Recipient Joshua Goldsmith, Lozafina CEO Josefina Loza
We feel incredibly privileged and humbled to have partnered with the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation to award our very first Lozafina $1,000 General Scholarship to an exceptional young man, Joshua Goldsmith.
Joshua, who will attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln this fall to study marketing and communications, captured our hearts with his resilience, self-awareness, and clarity of purpose.
As he beautifully wrote in his personal essay:
“Being adopted has taught me that where you start doesn't define you, but the changes that occur in life can change your path completely.”
Surrounded by supportive friends and a loving family, Joshua is determined to build a career in broadcasting where he can “share stories that matter and leave a lasting impact.”
When we had the chance to meet Joshua’s mother, her gratitude and pride were palpable. Seeing the joy on her face and knowing that this scholarship helps open doors for her son was a deeply emotional moment for all of us at Lozafina.
This moment is just the beginning.
We are inspired by the incredible example set by the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation, which has awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships over the years. Their commitment to uplifting Latino and underrepresented youth has lit a fire in us to continue supporting students like Joshua, to expand opportunities, and to use our platform for meaningful, community-rooted impact.
To the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation: thank you for believing in the next generation, and thank you for letting us be part of this powerful movement.
Here’s to many more stories worth sharing and many more Joshuas ready to leave their mark on the world.
