12 Days of Lozafina, DAY ELEVEN: Jevon Woods

As part of the 12 Days of Lozafina, we’re proud to spotlight Jevon Woods, a self-taught visual artist whose work reflects emotion, identity, and creative freedom. Based in Lincoln, Neb., Jevon’s art tells powerful stories through bold expression and intentional design, inviting viewers to slow down and truly feel.

Jevon’s artistic journey began during a period of major personal transition. After closing a previous business in 2017, he turned to painting as a form of self-discovery and healing. What started as an outlet quickly became a calling, evolving into a full creative practice.

Working from his downtown Lincoln studio, Jevon creates pieces that explore themes of culture, connection, and lived experience. Despite being colorblind, he has developed a distinctive visual style that relies on intuition, movement, and emotional depth, demonstrating that creativity is not about limitations, but rather about perspective.

His work has been exhibited across Nebraska, including shows honoring Black History Month and local cultural showcases in both Lincoln and Omaha.

Each piece reflects his conviction that art is a language of liberation, a means of communication that transcends words and fosters meaningful connections.
