The opening reception for Frida y Diego Community Art Show will begin at 4 p.m. at Joslyn Castle & Gardens.

The show, inspired by Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, will feature artwork from 30 local artists. The opening reception will include performances, including a poetry reading by Heidi Hermanson, and music by The Meadowlark Quartet.

Community activities include a coloring page contest, and an offrenda for Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. You will also have an opportunity

April 23rd, 6:30pm: Movie night in the gallery Featuring the new Frida Kahlo documentary

May 7th, 6:30pm: Movie night in the gallery featuring the movie FRIDA.

May 3rd- 5th: Selected works from the Frida y Diego Community Art Show will be moved to the Orpheum Theater for a special lobby showcase during the performances of “THE LAST DREAM OF FRIDA AND DIEGO”

May 23rd, 5-8pm: Closing Reception, and Costume Contest
